PTO MEETING: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5th. 7pm ~ hosted by our 5th grade. More information to be posted soon.
We are asked that question a lot. YOU are the PTO. The PTO is a group of parents, guardians, teachers and faculty that have a common goal - to make the learning environment that these children are in the best and safest place it can be. Together we raise money to put more books, learning tools, and technology into the classrooms and to make our school cutting edge. In previous years we raised money to put a full blown TV studio in our school (check out the morning news show next time you're in the office- these kids are great!), risers for the Music department, and several items in the Media, Spanish, PE and Art Departments. This year's goal is to help each grade level raise money and raise money for our "specials" classes (Music, PE, Media, Art and Spanish). We do have money set aside for a long term goal that will be named at a later date (once it has been discussed with Principal Collins). Please see our HELP WANTED page and see where we are looking for some helping hands.
PTO MEETINGS: The first Tuesday of every month is our PTO Board Meeting. 7pm in the CME cafeteria. This is a chance for you to hear what's going on with the PTO, in your child's classroom (a teacher from each grade level comes each month to speak), Ms. Collins, and a variety of other topics. Each PTO night is hosted by a grade level where they will have a fun event prior to. You are already a member of the PTO just by being a Parent. You receive 2 volunteer hours just for attending the meeting (typically they are only 40-45 minutes long). Great way to stay in touch with what's happening in your school!
SPIRIT NIGHTS: Each month a grade level hosts a Spirit Night. A local restaurant let's us have a special night with them where they donate money back to the school and it goes directly to that grade level. The restaurant varies each month depending on what the grade level has decided to do. Watch this website for updated info and your student's folder for more details to each month's Spirit Night.
